John has lived in Louisiana since 1988, earning his undergraduate degree from LSU and his Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
John is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. For the past 15 years, he has worked in private practice, clinics, and school settings providing counseling to individuals of all ages, couples, and families. Recently, he served as Clinical Director and Family Therapist for The Serenity Treatment Center of Louisiana, training and supervising clinicians while providing counseling to families.
His training in psychology and spirituality allows John to use a holistic approach to help clients feel safe and understood. Everyone is unique, and every plan of care is created with that in mind. No matter what the struggle, there is a solution.
To help create a unique plan of care John incorporates cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and family systems theories. He additionally offers EMDR, Pre-Marital counseling with PREPARE/ENRICH screening and assessment for SUD.

Before moving to Louisiana, John lived in Georgia, Colorado and Oklahoma, but feels he is a Louisianian at heart. In his free time, he enjoys playing music, cheering for LSU, and hanging out with his wife and 3 children.
