Averi Aucoin is a provisionally licensed professional counselor (PLPC), and a proud native of the Baton Rouge/Prairieville area. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College. Averi is currently working towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

Averi has clinical experience at an intensive outpatient facility, where she worked with clients from diverse backgrounds presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns. She has extensive experience facilitating group therapy for adults facing challenges such as grief and loss, depression, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and symptoms of psychosis. She believes this diverse clinical background has well prepared her for the transition into private practice.

Averi is deeply passionate about supporting clients living with chronic illnesses and navigating the complex connection between physical and mental health. Drawing from her own lived experience with multiple chronic conditions, she understands firsthand the challenges of managing persistent pain, fatigue, and the frustrations of our often-overwhelming medical system.

Her therapeutic approach is firmly rooted in person-centered care. Averi believes that clients are the experts of their own experiences and meets each individual, exactly where they are. She integrates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and internal family systems (IFS), adapting each session to the unique needs of the person in front of her. With an open and compassionate mindset, Averi aims to create a supportive space for healing and self-discovery.

In her spare time, Averi enjoys a variety of hobbies that reflect her fun and creative spirit. She is an avid cat lover and shares her home with her husband, and a spoiled only-cat named Forrest. A competitive bowler, Averi continues to participate in a league alongside her family, nurturing both her passion for the sport and her close family bond. She’s also a music and movie enthusiast with a remarkable talent for recalling obscure song lyrics and film quotes—if only there were a career for that!
